Begin honestly.
Prayer is not a performance and it does not require religious language. Speak to God plainly. Jesus taught His disciples to pray, and you can begin by bringing Him what is actually in your heart.
Bring your fear, grief, questions, gratitude, anger, hope, and need without pretending.
Confess what you know is wrong and ask the Lord for forgiveness, wisdom, strength, and direction.
Ask God to help you know Jesus Christ and understand His Word as you keep walking with Him.
You do not have to impress God with your words. Come honestly, keep returning, and let Scripture teach you how to pray.
