God is holy, and we are not.
The Bible tells the truth about every one of us: we have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Sin is more than a collection of mistakes. It is rebellion against the God who made us, and its wages are death.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 · KJV
We cannot save ourselves.
Good works matter, but they cannot erase guilt, purchase forgiveness, or earn eternal life. We are not saved because we finally become worthy. We are saved by grace through faith.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works...” Ephesians 2:8–9 · KJV
Jesus Christ came for sinners.
The eternal Son of God took on flesh, lived without sin, and gave His life on the cross for our sins. He was buried, and on the third day He rose from the dead. The grave did not hold Him. Jesus Christ lives and reigns.
Believe on Him.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:31 · KJV
Jesus died on a cross, rose three days later, and reigns forever. Believe on Him and receive the gift of eternal life.
You do not have to clean yourself up before coming to Jesus.
Come to Him as you are. Salvation is His gift. The life that follows is not an attempt to purchase what Christ has already given; it is the fruit of belonging to Him.
